Stay Balanced

Nutritionists talk about a 'balanced diet.' This means eating a variety of food from the 5 main food groups.

Your diet should include foods from the groups in the proportions shown in the graphic. In the short-term this will help with your appearance and energy levels.

Not eating enough from the key groups may mean you are not eating a balanced diet. This can cause you health problems in the short term, eg iron deficiency, and in the future, eg heart disease and osteoporosis.
